LINES OF ACTION

León Diguet

  • CHAC

I. RIGHTS AND PUBLIC POLICY

We promote and defend environmental and Indigenous rights through the monitoring, identification, and analysis of risks and opportunities. We also engage in legal and media advocacy, as well as management and lobbying efforts that influence the development and implementation of public policies.

II. NATURE CONSERVATION

We carry out ecological and socioeconomic assessments throughout the Huichol Biocultural Corridor. Based on these, we establish priorities and promote strategies and tools for biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation.

III. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

We develop strategies and build alliances with various stakeholders and organizations to foster socially and economically sustainable development projects—both for Huichol communities and for other societies living along the corridor.

IV. CULTURAL HERITAGE

We develop empowerment tools together with Huichol communities to strengthen the conservation and management of their biocultural heritage, promoting its respect and recognition.

V. RESEARCH AND OUTREACH

We conduct interdisciplinary research applied to the corridor’s programs and projects, focusing on ecological and sociocultural disciplines. We disseminate the knowledge generated and promote awareness and engagement within society.
